Yesterday was a big day for my family - my little sister's wedding! It was an *amazing* day, and everything was just perfect. The happy couple is now on their way to spend the week on white sand beaches - those lucky ducks!

My gorgeous bouquet:
My gift to the new couple was something sweet - cake, of course! I'm really happy with how everything came out, and how everything held up on such a hot day (it was 90 degrees+, with at least 80% humidity). I made a 4 tier cake, and cupcake centerpieces for all of the tables. My sister wanted to incorporate her favorite flowers - gerbera daisies - into the design for both the cake and cupcakes.
The cake was white velvet cake with fresh cut strawberry filling, draped in fondant. My new brother in law is a Second Lieutenant in the Army, and was VERY excited to cut the cake with his saber (which is why you see a sword in the pics!)!
Cupcakes! White velvet cake with fresh strawberry buttercream filling and vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. Daises made out of gumpaste, and dusted with petal dust.
Many thanks to everyone for making this day so amazing. And a BIG thank you to my boyfriend who delivered the cake, set up all of the stands, and orchestrated the set up of all of the cupcakes - without your help, none of this would have been possible! <3

How pretty! the cake turned out SO good and I just adore those laser cut cupcake cassettes. And as I was going through your old posts, I saw those absolutely adorable purse cupcake toppers you made! Those are SO awesome! Keep up the great work!

Jenniffer - thank you so very much!! :) I too, love the laser cut cupcake wrappers - they added a very elegant touch to the cupcakes. Definitely worth the cost! And thank you for the compliments on the purse cupcake toppers! Those were so much fun to make (and very satisfying to see the end result). Looking forward to making more of those in the future :)
Sorry I'm a little late on this one, but you know I've been busy... ;-)
Once again you have absolutely blown everyone away with your work, both in the appearance and quality of flavor. I heard more positive feedback on the cake and cupcakes than I could count on both hands. Congratulations, babe. I'm very proud of you.
